Creating madlix models
To get your models on madlix you first have to model them in a DCC-tool, export the model to collada and then publish them with the Madlix publisher. The following DCC-tool have working collada exporters.

Madlix publisher can be directly integrated with Maya on windows XP. Install the Publisher, then you only have to click Publish All or Publish Selected. The script will export a Collada file and start the Publisher automatically.
If your on another operating system you have to

- Click File -> Export All...
- Choose "Files of Type" to COLLADA Exporter (*.dae)
- In the options box, see to it that the Triangulate checkbox is checked.
- Run the online publisher with the exported .dae file.

This describes how to export a Sketchup model for use with the Madlix Publisher.
It assumes you're using Sketchup version 6.0.515 (or later).
- When you're pleased with your model in Sketchup, click File->Export->3D Model...
- Choose a filename and then select Google Earth 4 (.kmz) in the Export type box. Note that regular Google Earth files will not work *
- Click OK, then Export, and your model will be saved in the location you specified.
- Run the online publisher with the exported .kmz file.
* (If you're an owner of Sketchup Pro you can also choose Collada (*.dae). If you chose Collada as your format, please review your options to see that The box labeled "Triangulate all faces" is checked. Madlix will ignore all untriangulated content. It's also recommended to have "Export two-sided faces" turned off.)
Known problems/Troubleshooting:
With Sketchup you can export with different materials on separate sides of a face. At the moment Madlix-viewer only supports one material per face.
Version 6.0.277 contained a bug that generates roughly one material for each face/triangle. If you get a bloated file and/or laggy performance in the viewer, please check for a new version of Sketchup.
Version 6.0.515 contains a bug concerning transparency. With current Collada material definitions, the element should actually contain 1-transparency. There is a workaround in Madlix for this.
XSI
Export a triangulated Collada 1.4.1 file via XSI Crosswalk. Run the online publisher with the exported .dae file.
