Using the models on your page or blog
You can use the 3D models live on your own web page or blog.

Copy the applet tag from the embed box(See picture) on the model page. Paste this code snippet into your page.
You can customize the size and background color of the plugin to match your page design. The size can be adjusted by setting the width and height in the applet tag. The background color can be set with the background_color parameter.
To link to a Madlix model, copy the text in the “Link” field next to the model. Paste this code snippet into your page.

Using feeds
Instead of embedding a single model on your page you can embed a random model. This is done with what we call feeds. There are four types of feeds: Random model feeds, New model feeds, Artist feeds and Keyword feeds. There are a random part in all feeds but the subset of which models that should be selected from you can control. To use a feed you just specify the url parameter of the applet tag to a feed url, see examples below.
Random feeds Gets a random model from madlix.com. URL: http://www.madlix.com/Web/feeds/Random?file=.mlx
New model feed Gets one of the ten most recent added models to madlix.com. URL: http://www.madlix.com/Web/feeds/New?file=.mlx
Artist feeds Gets a random model by a specified artist. URL: http://www.madlix.com/Web/feeds/User?username=assortednuts&file=.mlx
Keyword feeds Gets a random model associated with a specified keyword. URL: http://www.madlix.com/Web/feeds/Keyword?keyword=fish&file=.mlx
See this example page for more info.
Publisher
The Madlix Publisher is the tool for uploading content to Madlix™.Instructions
Publishing is done in a simple step by step process. Here's how to do it:1. Choose a file to upload
a. From Maya: Either you just click Publish all to send your whole scene to the publisher, or you can select specific objects and publish them by clicking the Publish selected button.
b. Standalone export: Run the Publisher from the Start-menu. After the loading splash screen you are taken to the welcome page. Here you can click "Select a file" to browse for a file to publish. You can select any triangulated COLLADA 1.4.1 compliant document for publishing. You can also choose Google Earth 4 .kmz-files. If you're experiencing trouble with your Collada content, please have a look at our compatibility chart.
c. Web export/republishing: Either use the Publish model link, or go into your account and select a model for republishing. The Publisher will now start directly in your browser.
2. Terms of service
To successfully upload a model you have to agree to the license terms. Read through them and click to accept!3. Textures
If the Publisher encountered any texture problems in the model, this page is shown. There can be three reasons for this:
a) The texture(s) are too large for being suitable for real-time display. Only newer graphics cards can handle textures of really large dimensions. This warning occurs if the texture contains more than 2^20 pixels, ie. is larger than 1024x1024.
b) The texture(s) are not optimally sized for real-time purposes. For textures to work well on all systems they should have sides that are 2^n pixels. 512x512 is a typical example, but 64x1024 is a valid size as well.
c) The texture(s) are in a format that Java had problem reading. This has to be changed manually in your image editing software.
The Publisher will automatically resize and/or rescale your images if the "Fix problems automatically" check box is ticked. Another way is of course to exit the Publisher and use your favorite image editing software to fix the problems and then try to publish the model again!
4. Pose your model
On this page you can preview your model and put it in the position you want it to be. The position you leave the model in will be its starting position when loaded in Madlix. The pose will also work as a thumbnail image for the model.
5. Model information
This page is where you enter the name of your model. You can also enter searchable keywords, and check the categories that apply to your model. There is also room for a more detailed description of the model.
6. Upload
On the upload page you simply supply your Madlix user name and password. If you like the Publisher to remember your login, just tick the check box. If this is the first time you upload content to Madlix, you need to create a new account. To do this, click the blue link "Create new account", and follow the instructions in your browser.
When you're done, just click upload and the model will be published on Madlix!
7. Madlix
If the upload was successful, you will see this page. Click the link to view the new model on Madlix. Congratulations!
